What does it matter where you come from if you can be anyone?

I've always loved cyberpunk and Shadowrun, I read the handbook so many times it literally fell apart, and yet I've never actually got to play it :) Anyway, running around with a Casio keyboard plugged into your brain, what's there not to love?
